Tarplett Generator Services generator maintenance packages for new generators and used generators can provide you with peace of mind; TGS have an approach that can ensure minimal risk and maximum system reliability, at the same time understanding that different customers have different generator maintenance requirements that also need to be cost effective.
Our factory trained skilled engineers are able to maintain any make of generator throughout England and Wales, including SDMO generators as part of our comprehensive service. With the benefit of our expertise and experience, we are able to keep your power products performing to their optimum level.
A second to none repair service
A Genuine 24/7/365 breakdown service, with 4-hour response time is part of the TGS offer to all service contract holders. With our engineers carrying comprehensive van stocks, TGS are achieving a 95% first visit fix on most emergency call outs.
For major breakdowns, emergency rental generators are available, whilst your own generator is being repaired, either from our own fleet or through their partnership with a national generator rental company. Delivery is never a problem using our own 65 tonne/metre HIAB equipped commercial vehicle.
Load Banking, fuel management, fuel tank replacement and fuel polishing options are all available at competitive rates.

Generator Service
2 planned generator maintenance visits per annum (A & B service) performed during normal working hours
Service Contract over 12 month period
1 x A Service:
- Full system inspection
- Over 60 separate electrical and mechanical checks
- Top up levels as necessary
- Site load test (if possible)
- Return control to auto.
B Service:
- Full system inspection
- Lubricating oil drained and replaced
- Oil filters changed
- Fuel Filters changed
- Coolant filter changed
- Air filters checked/cleaned (replacement would be the subject of a separate quotation)
- Over 60 separate electrical and mechanical checks
- Site load test (if possible)
- Return control to auto.
On each maintenance visit a signed copy of the generator service sheet is left on site.
24/7/365 call out service included, 4 hour response time (subject to weather and traffic conditions) parts and labour chargeable on call out.
Diesel fuel & Bio Diesel Content
All Diesel fuel has a minimum of 2.5% Bio Diesel content. This percentage rose to a minimum of 5% in 2010. This has the potential of leading to major problems for anybody that stores diesel in generator bulk or base tanks for a period of longer than six months.
At Tarplett Generator Services we can offer a fuel testing service, with reports coupled with a preventative maintenance programme and solution for storage tanks to help address the problem before it becomes critical.
